A. Travel by airplane

Please send your travel dates and flight numbers to our

Conference Secretary Ms. Anita Seidl

Participants of the conference who fly to Germany will either arrive in Frankfurt Airport (=FRA) or Munich ("München") Airport (=MUC). Although Munich is closer to Augsburg we recommend that you fly into Frankfurt and take a train from there to Augsburg. Indeed, there is a train station ("Frankfurt Flughafen Terminal") right inside Frankfurt Airport with convenient connections to Augsburg Central Station.

1. Arrival at Frankfurt Airport

Either you continue your journey by flying to Munich Airport, or you take a train from the train station at Munich Airport to Augsburg Central Station. We recommend that you take the train, since this is very comfortable and you do not have to transfer from Munich Airport to Augsburg Central Station.

You find the schedule of trains from Frankfurt Airport ("Frankfurt Flughafen Terminal") to Augsburg Central Station here:

2. Arrival at Munich Airport

2.1 Car service or airport shuttle from Munich Airport to Augsburg

Once we know when and with which flight you plan to arrive at Munich Airport we will organize an Airport Transfer to the Conference Center in Augsburg by car/van, which will cost a total of 65 EUR for 1-4 passengers.

A regular taxi from Munich Airport to Augsburg is quite expensive (approximately 130 EUR one way, better ask the driver before you start).

If you would like to call a car service directly at the airport, for example,

Munictransfer
http://www.munictransfer.de/index_eng.html
phone: +49-(0)89-80 90 94 84
mobile: +49-(0)175-2 69 26 26

the price is also approximately 130 EUR (one way).

2.2 Trains from Munich Airport to Augsburg

You may also reach Augsburg by train. The train ride consists of two parts: First by commuter train ("S-Bahn") S8 to München-Pasing, and then to Augsburg Central Station. So you have to change trains in München-Pasing. You find the schedule of trains from Munich Airport to Augsburg Central Station here:

You may buy your ticket at the "Deutsche Bahn" (DB) ticket counter in Terminal 1 of Munich Airport, right next to the escalators down to the platform where the S8 commuter train leaves to München-Pasing; for a map of Terminal 1 see
