Symmetry and Interactions in Multiferroics
|

Multiferroism results from a subtle interplay of electric and magnetic degrees of freedom. I will discuss general considerations of the influence of symmetry of lattice and magnetic interaction, and the role of defects in producing a useful multiferroic state. These ideas will be illustrated with results from recent experimental studies. |
