  • Electric fluctuation forces: classical (Debye and Keesom), and quantum (London dispersion force).
  • Quantum zero-point fluctuations and Casimir force.
  • Van-der-Waals forces between solids. Semi-empirical Hamaker approach.
  • Lifshitz synthesis: van-der-Waals forces as quantum electromagnetic fluctuation forces. General heuristic theory with rigorous results. Non-additivity of vdW-forces. Retardation effects. Repulsive vdW-force. Calculation recipes.
