tem_interface Our group studies structural and mechanical properties of modern metallic materials. The research can be subdivided into the study of phase transitions in state-of-the-art aluminium alloys, high temperature corrosion of steels and friction stir welding and processing of aluminium and various other metals.

A broad range of visualisation and analysis methods is available at the chair, which are used to gain a deep understanding of the physical reasons for the macroscopical behaviour of metallic materials, used in present and future applications.
