Research interests

  • quantum systems out of equilibrium

  • nonequilibrium transport (ac-drive induced directed transport regimes)

Some of our models [15, 28] have been embodied with cold atoms
by the group of Ferruccio Renzoni

  • anomalous kinetics [37]

  • interactions between complex systems

Current research topics

A classical physicist by training, I worked about chaos/nonlineairity/stochasticity until the fall of 2006.
Then I felt that the life at the classical corner has become boring. A brave new quantum world opened up to me and I am on quantum tracks since then.
  • ac-driven quantum systems

Our proposal for ac-driven quantum ratchets with
ultracold atoms (BEC) [23, 24] has been incarnated by the group of Martin Weitz
    (Science 326, 1241 (2009)) . They observed a whole spectrum of theoretically
predicted effects and thus demarcated their quantum ratchet
    from classical ones.

    Quantum Machinery

  • many-body quantum systems out of equilibrium

Excitations/energy/entalgement propagation mechanisms, stationary nonequilibrium states.

  • interaction between finite quantum systems

Energy/information exchange, "embracing" through classical and quantum correlations (entanglement), nonequlibrium states and relaxation to equilibrium [36, 37].
