Abstract

The theoretical description of spin dynamics in semiconductors necessitates a transport theory for strongly spin-orbit coupled structures. In degenerate electron systems a particularly successful approach is the so-called quasiclassical theory. In this project this theory will be developed for strong spin-orbit scattering, with applications to questions concerning voltage induced spin accumulation, spin-Hall effect, spin dephasing and spin relaxation.
