1. Synthesis of metal complexes

2. analytical characterization of metal complexes (thermal analysis, UV/vis spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, X-ray diffraction)

3. Functional coordination materials (spin-crossover materials, information storage materials)

4. Catalysis (oxidation reactions)


Acquired skills and knowledge:

    The students will learn how to:

  • prepare transition metal complexes employing modern preparation techniques (e.g. microwave  synthesis) and inert conditions (Schlenk technique),
  • characterize coordination compounds by selected analytical techniques,
  • develop functional coordination materials based on organic / inorganic hybrid compounds,
  • employ X-ray diffraction methods for structural analysis.
