Our research is focused on biologically inspired materials syntheses and biomimetic model systems. We employ tailored organic compounds (i.e. amphiphilic molecules, peptide ligands, polymeric thin films etc.) in order to control the shape, morphology and functional properties of different kinds of inorganic compounds (metal ions, clusters, (nano-)crystals).
