Magnetic Resonance

We are investigating the local electronic and magnetic properties of strongly correlated matter by means of electron spin resonance (ESR) as well as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) in a wide range of temperatures (30mK - 1000K) and in magnetic fields up to 11T. The materials of interest are transition-metal oxides and transition-metal chalcogenides as well as intermetallic compounds based on transition-metals, where the competing spin, orbital, charge and lattice degrees of freedom give rise to electronic states, which can be switched by small changes of external parameters, like electronic or magnetic field, chemical or hydrostatic pressure.
